A small weatherboard Anglican Church was erected on the corner of Vernon and Brunswick Streets.
The real 'life blood' of any church is the huge group of volunteers who make everything happen. Supporting them here at St Anne's is a ministry team of paid and honorary staff members.

It was enlarged and a Rectory constructed in 1889
The district was formed into a parish and a Rector was appointed in December 1885
With the population of Strathfield growing, in 1892 the present site on the corner of Beresford and Homebush Roads was acquired with funds from the sale of the church premises in Vernon St. The new brick church was designed by the renowned architect and local resident, Sir John Sulman
The foundation stone was laid in 1892 and the major part of the nave was completed and dedicated in 1893
With the nave fully completed and the organ installed by 1902
The chancel was added in 1914 and the Church Hall was also completed in this period, with additions made in 1952
The present Rectory was built in 1921 using the proceeds of the sale of the former Rectory in Vernon St.
St Anne’s is located at the corner of Homebush Road and Beresford Road, Strathfield. It is in walking distance of both Strathfield and Homebush railway stations.
